Betty “Jo” Weiser was an original co-founder of the Organization when it was established in 1955. As “Director Emeritus”, she continues to serve and participate in the business of the Organization.
The foundation of Canal Winchester Human Services rests upon the participation of its member organizations. More than 30 churches, groups and organizations comprise our membership. As a group, the member organizations gather each March to be updated on the most recent activity of the organization and to participate in the planning of future endeavors.
Each member organization is entitled to two representatives. In addition, churches are also represented by one member of clergy. From these representatives, the governing board is determined. The Executive Board of Directors includes a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and Treasurer, each whom hold positions that are voted upon annually during the general meeting held each March. Five trustees also serve and are selected from the representatives of the member organizations. Each trustee term is three years and the positions are voted upon by the representatives as they expire on a rotating basis, at the general meeting held each March. No member organization may be represented in more than one Executive Board position at any given time.
